Fortnightly Update |

Good morning everyone
I hope you are all doing well and had a fantastic Easter.
Welcome to the new format of fortnightly updates. Hopefully this will lead to more interesting and helpful updates, no pressure!
AGMOn the 12th May you are cordially invited to the Civic Centre to attend the much-anticipated NHW AGM. Please let me know that you are attending so I can get enough chairs out and make sure the refreshments are well. Here you will find out all about the previous year and the future plans as well as some great talks. It’s your chance to ask the Committee the question you want answering and meet your fellow members and discuss how different schemes are ran.
Local ElectionsLocal elections are now in full swing, and this is your chance to influence how your community is run. If you haven’t registered to vote yet, make sure you do so before 7th May so you don’t miss out. If you’re unsure who to vote for, take some time to look at all the candidates standing in your area and consider what they’re offering. These elections decide who represents you locally and who will be making decisions that affect everyday life, so it’s worth taking a moment to get informed and have your say. Autistic Awareness MonthI know we’re halfway through April so this is a bit late but this is my first email of April. This month is Autistic Awareness month so do have a look at this page. World Autism Acceptance Month 2026
NHW PodcastNeighbourhood Watch is set to launch a brand-new podcast this May. The format brings together well-known faces to share their experiences of crime and community.
Stephen Lawrence day webinarStephen Lawrence Day is on 22 April. It marks the anniversary of Stephen's murder in 1993. This year, Neighbourhood Watch is marking the occasion by hosting a special webinar on knife crime, delivered in partnership with the Ben Kinsella Trust, one of the UK's leading charities dedicated to knife crime prevention and education. Join us at 10.30 on 22 April to learn what you can do to keep young people safe. This event is free and online.
With that, I bid you an amazing weekend and I will be in contact soon.
